I have read in the book of my father, may Allah Taala bless him with Mercy and Love, that War' or War'a (avoidance) is a mental or spiritual condition in which a person quits every thing that Sharee'a does not allow, and does only what it allows.

My father, may Allah Taala bless him with Mercy and Love, says that the people of War'a mostly have the ten following attributes:

1. they remain firm on following the sunnah of Prophet s.a.w. and the decisions of Muslim Majority,
2. they pay thanks to Allah Taala in every condition,
3. they offer the five obligatory prayers regularly,
4. they avoid all prides and arrogance,
5. they don't consider any one inferior, and they don't put sarcastic remarks,
6. they spend their money and wealth in the way of Allah Taala,
7. they adopt truthfulness and their way of life,
8. they don't look at what is forbidden, and they avoid all doubtful things,
9. they don't cut backbiting,
10. they keep their tongue in their control

Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin wa ala Aali Muhammad...
