I have read in the book of my father, may Allah Taala put His mercy on him, that once Shaykh Shaynki was sitting in the company of his Shaykh Abu Bakr. He told Shaykh Abdullah Shaynki that there are eight Awtad, and they are living in Iraq:
- Hz. Maaroof al-Karkhi r.a.
- Hz. Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal r.a.
- Hz. Bashar Haafi r.a.
- Hz. Mansoor bin Ammaar r.a.
- Hz. Junaid Baghdadi r.a.
- Hz. Sri as-Saqati r.a.
- Hz. Suhail bin Abdullah Tastari r.a.
- Hz. Abd ul-Qadir al-Jaylani r.a.
My father, may Allah Taala put His mercy on him, further states that Hz. Shaykh Shaynki asked 'Who is Abd ul-Qadir al-Jaylani?' At this Hz. Shaykh Abu Bakr r.a. told him that Shaykh Abd ul-Qadir al-Jaylani was to be born in fifth century, and that he would be from one of the nobles of Ajm. He would take his residence in Baghdad, and shall be the Awtad and Qutb of all times to come. He would perform a number of miracles, and would be from exalted ones to eternity.
