From Futuh-ul-Ghayb, an excerpt:
Hz. Ghouth-e-Azam, Shaykh Abd-ul-Qadir Jilani r.a. says that the Wali of Allah Taala has nothing to do with:
- public -- he does not care whether they criticize or appreciate, honor or insult.
- pleasure -- he does not feel any inclination towards taste and lust,
- plan -- he does not make any desire, nor does he plan to execute it,
The Shaykh r.a. further says something to the effect of the above signs and suggests that these signs are in fact the the three stages towards Walaayat. A person or Abd of Allah Taala who reaches this status, sees and does what he is ordered to see and do. He does not do any thing without order.
Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin wa ala Aali Muhammad.
